My Early Days and Education
I grew up in Ohio, where my fascination with cars started early. I spent weekends in the garage with my father, learning the basics of vehicle maintenance before I could even drive.
These experiences ignited a lifelong interest in the mechanics of cars—how they work, how they’re built, and most importantly, how they impact our daily lives. It wasn’t just about engines and wheels for me; I was interested in how cars shaped entire industries and changed the way we live and move.
This passion led me to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Ohio State University. My time there was an incredible learning experience, especially in automotive design and sustainable energy.
It was during these years that I started to focus on electric vehicles (EVs), which were just beginning to make waves in the industry. My interest in green technology and innovation would later become a central theme in my career.
After earning my Bachelor’s, I decided to dive even deeper into the technical side of things by pursuing a Master’s in Automotive Technology.
It was here that I first encountered the exciting world of autonomous driving systems and hybrid powertrains. This education laid the groundwork for my future in the industry and opened my eyes to the possibilities of merging traditional car engineering with the latest tech advancements.
My Career Journey
When I first entered the automotive industry, I started out as a systems engineer for a major manufacturer. My early work focused on designing fuel-efficient engines, which was exciting because it allowed me to combine my engineering background with my passion for sustainability.
But soon enough, I felt the pull toward electric vehicles and joined a startup dedicated to developing cutting-edge EV technology. Working in product development on EVs was an incredible experience.
I was part of a team that was shaping the future of mobility, from battery technology to vehicle design. I learned a lot about what goes into making a car not only environmentally friendly but also efficient and enjoyable to drive.
My career has taken me through various aspects of the automotive world, from traditional manufacturing to EV startups. I’ve also had the opportunity to contribute to research in autonomous driving and smart car technologies. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of where the industry is heading—and it’s heading into an exciting future driven by innovation and sustainability.
Why I Started Hype Auto Power
After years in the industry, I realized there was a need for a platform that wasn’t just about reporting on new car releases or providing car reviews. I wanted to create a space that blended practical advice with cutting-edge trends, helping everyday people understand and keep up with the rapidly changing automotive world. And so, in 2019, I launched Hype Auto Power.
